I caught this thread some time back, but was unable to respond until after the competition. While not explicitly a response to your points, if you take a few minutes to read the following blog post, I think you&amp;#39;ll realize you&amp;#39;ve hit the nail on the head with regards to our intentions in program design.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;http://www.ideacouture.com/blog/2011/01/26/in-defense-of-voting-platforms/ &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition to the blog post commentary, I can assure you as one of the principal program designers of the Aviva Community Fund that we do moderate ideas once they are originally submitted for quality and fit, and that extensive screening of ideas happens at the judging stage of the competition (what I call the pivot point from marketing into cause). What&amp;#39;s also amazing is that in the two years that we&amp;#39;ve now run this program, we actually find smaller communities tend to be extremely capable of organizing and activating their communities for voting.
